I will post the list we are studying on my agenda page.
Spelling
I will send home the weekly list each week on the first day of the week, as a cursive practice tool and study list.
If you lose the list or wish to have your student study their words independently please try my SPELLING CITY page:
https://www.spellingcity.com/gstark/
Tests are on THURSDAY, unless there are 4 days in that week and then the test will be on Friday.
We DO NOT make up spelling tests.
Workbooks are completed during the week and turned in for grading by Friday.

Social Studies
We will begin with chapter 1 and progress through the social studies text in order. I hand out the WINK on the day we start a new lesson. Students are expected to complete their Wink as we go through the lesson and chapter. During the first quarter ONLY, I will award 5 bonus points to their test score if their Wink is completely and accurately completed. They earn fewer bonus points for incomplete or inaccurate notes. The use of a study guide supports the habit and skill of note taking, which is an important skill as they progress in school.
The Wink contains EVERYTHING they will need to know for the test! Please review them frequently with your child and just before the test to ensure they are prepared for their exam.
Throughout the chapter and usually during every lesson, students will complete a worksheet about the lesson. They are expected to use their book for these assignments, unless it is a text companion and then the information they will need is on the back. These activities provide an opportunity to achieve a good grade to offset a poor test grade (if needed).
