2019-20 School Year
Two websites we use throughout the year are XTRAMATH and Zearn Xtramath is a quick, fun, and helpful tool for learning and honing their math facts in addition, subtraction and multiplication. It can be done at home and it takes less than 10 minutes. Tenmarks is also free and I have found it VERY useful for learning new math topics and strategies!
Before Labor Day I will send home your student's PIN and link to these 2 websites.

I am frequently asked, "What can I do to get my son (or daughter) help in math?" Fourth grade really begins using basic math skills in many different ways. First, make sure your child knows their facts, not just multiplication facts, but addition facts as well. I am always amazed that students still use their fingers for problems like 5+6! Yes it is true, over 30% are still using inappropriate strategies when they need to use memorization skills of basic facts.
Next, have them use my Extramath and Zearn websites! The students that have (and only 5-6 out of 50+ students have) used these have made remarkable progress! These sites are free, don't take long, and they are safe. They also let you see how well they are doing, as well as gives them and myself important feedback on their progress. Every student has their own account, if you need that information again, please contact me.
